          RADIO WAS A PRETTY BIG DEAL FOR QUITE A LONG TIME

              

In pictures, text and occasional sound, here is an uncommon amount of detail on the early radio business.                                       

 

Trade magazine stories included here reflect the early editorial and and writing styles of the observers of an exploding industry. While lacking today's

perspective and bereft of the value of hindsight, the news stories still make interesting reading for the Historian.

                                  

What they told us in the early pages was what they knew about their infant radio world, without judgment and with a total lack of spin.  And every

day there was something new at which to marvel !

                                  

Of singular interest may be the "Futurists" who saw beyond their time...particularly Hugo Gernsbach ('The Radio Editorials'). 

His ideas and imagination challenged the reader to join him on a magic carpet ride to a future made promising by ever-advancing technology.
